Mentorship and Collaboration

The one thing I love about Revival is that we constantly have monthly mentorship and collaboration meetings. Different therapists take turns talking about things that have come up in their appointments with clients — things that went really well or things they want to touch base on with other therapists to get feedback or input.

I’m constantly given the opportunity to learn from other practitioners in the office, which I love. The mentorship meetings are great because we focus on how to interact with clientele, while the collaboration meetings are hands-on, where we physically learn new skills. Sometimes that means different assessments, like how to assess the ribs, or learning new treatment techniques.

You get every opportunity to grow here. You’re always given valuable information from practitioners who have been around longer or have taken additional courses. You get bits and pieces from everyone that help you along the way. If you’re ever confused about something, there’s always someone to bounce ideas off, which I’ve really loved.

At Revival, there are always ways to grow in your profession. For me, I’m an athletic therapist, so whether it’s collaboration meetings throughout the month or one-on-one sessions with another therapist to learn new skills we can incorporate into our treatments, there’s always room to learn. There are always new opportunities to improve, and that eventually empowers the clients I see.

Client Success and Growth

Some of the ways I measure true client success start right at the beginning. I ask clients what their goals are and what activities or things they want to get back to doing that they can’t right now. One of the main ways I determine success is by seeing whether or not they’re able to do those things they said they were struggling with.

As we go through their sessions, we measure progress through different physical tests. Is the joint moving better? Am I feeling less tension in the areas that were issues? Is that inflammation or heat reducing? Is the patient feeling better more consistently?

A lot of that progress comes from doing a detailed initial assessment. If you take the time to get a full picture at the start, you can look back later and show your client how far they’ve come. I can say, “Hey, this is where you were in the beginning, and this is where you are now.” Showing them that big jump — whether it’s less pain or better movement — helps them see the value in what we’re doing.

Sometimes pain doesn’t go away immediately, but range of motion and function can improve quickly. When you can show a client that they’re able to move more freely, it keeps them engaged in their therapy and rehab journey.

As a therapist, I also look for client feedback — both verbal and physical. For example, if a client who couldn’t hold a position at first can now hold it for thirty seconds, that’s real progress.

Another way I know clients are succeeding is when their attitude and words change. They start to sound happier and more thankful, not just about treatment but in their day-to-day lives. When someone starts telling you they’re feeling better at home or at work, that’s success.

Team Culture and Daily Life

Behind the scenes, the culture at Revival is very supportive. When I come in the morning, if I’m the first one in, I’ll open up, turn on the lights, and set up my room. But there are times when another therapist has beaten me in and has already prepped some of my equipment — maybe they’ve put the laser in my room or turned on the lights.

Those small gestures mean a lot. Sometimes I’ll go to the washroom between clients and come back to find someone wiped down my table or restocked my towels. Those little things, whether they come from admin or another therapist, make a big difference. They help prevent that feeling of being overwhelmed on a busy day and reduce burnout.

That’s something I’ve really appreciated about working here.

Another big part of our culture is the constant check-ins. If I have a new client or I’m going through a busy day, another therapist will stop by and ask, “Hey, how’s your day going? How are things?” Everyone makes a point to connect.

If you’re sharing a client with someone, it’s common to have quick conversations like, “Hey, I saw you saw this person. Anything you want to go over?” There’s always an open door for those discussions.

Even when we’re all busy, we make time to connect — whether that’s a text message, a quick call after shift, or a note in the chart. There’s always a way to check in.

Management Support and Communication

Management plays a big role in keeping that culture alive. When you start at Revival, you have regular meetings where you can bring up things you’re noticing or questions you might have. They’re there to support you and make sure you feel confident in how things are done here.

Whether you’re a new therapist or someone with experience coming from another clinic, management helps you navigate how things might be different here. Having that open communication helps ease your mind.

Sometimes you encounter new situations and wonder, “Am I doing something wrong?” or “Is this normal?” Having someone to talk to about it is refreshing and takes away a lot of stress. I’ve really appreciated that here — it’s made a big difference in my mentality and confidence.

Supportive and Collaborative Environment

Behind the scenes, everyone is collaborative and caring toward each other. There’s no judgment in this clinic. The culture is positive, and that’s one of the main reasons I love working here.

Day-to-day, as an athletic therapist, I usually come in, set up my treatment room, and review my charts. If I have breaks throughout the day, I’ll catch up on documentation, send emails, or follow up with patients about their progress. And most days, I sneak in a little Starbucks drive.

Every day is different, which is one of the reasons I love working here. Seeing different cases and patients throughout the day keeps things interesting and fulfilling.

Relationships and Connection

The culture we’ve created here is one of openness and support. If you need someone to listen or help you problem-solve, there’s always someone available.

A big part of that is the relationships we’ve built with one another. We know what each of us enjoys treating, our specialties, what’s worked for us, and what hasn’t.

We even have multiple group chats — some for therapists, some including admin — so you can quickly reach out if you need advice or input.

Outside of work, we make time to connect socially, too. Once a month or every couple of months, we’ll have events — golf, bowling, Launchpad — something to have fun and build those connections outside of the clinic.

Those relationships make coming to work enjoyable and help reduce burnout. You feel like you’re part of a community, not just a workplace.

If someone’s overwhelmed or needs a mental health day, there’s no guilt about it. Everyone understands. Other therapists will step in to support your clients if you need time off, so you never have to worry that someone’s being left without care.

That collaboration and support make Revival different from a lot of other clinics.

Mental Health and Balance

The culture here is very supportive. I feel like I can go to anyone — whether it’s another therapist or admin — and just be honest if I’m feeling burnt out. Everyone would be understanding.

I really value that support because, as a therapist, taking care of your own mental health is so important. If a patient senses that you’re burnt out or fatigued, they notice it. Our goal is always to maintain great patient satisfaction, and that starts with taking care of ourselves.

Being burnt out happens. Sometimes it’s unavoidable, and that’s okay. I’m grateful that everyone here supports each other in that. Whether it’s taking a break during the day or having someone pick up a coffee for you, the options are always there to help you recharge.

Client Care Philosophy and Holistic Approach

In athletic therapy, there’s often an ongoing conversation about insurance coverage and how to navigate that as a therapist. A lot of the clients who come to us have already tried traditional routes — they’ve gone to doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, and physiotherapists — but they haven’t seen long-term results. That’s usually why they find us.

Our clients really appreciate our holistic approach. We take the time to look at the entire body as a whole, not just the specific area where the pain is showing up. We assess how everything connects, above and below the problem area, and focus on finding the root cause.

Clients love that. They see results because we’re not just treating symptoms — we’re addressing the underlying issues. They like that everything is handled in one place instead of having to go to multiple appointments for different issues.

For example, instead of going to one appointment for a knee problem and another for neck pain, they can come to Revival, where we take everything into account. That’s a big reason they get better results here.

Even if a client doesn’t have insurance, they often find a way to continue treatment because they see the value in what we do. They understand that what we’re offering addresses their whole body and long-term well-being.

Mentorship and Leadership at Revival

The mentorship at Revival has been incredible — honestly more than I ever expected. Before I started, they talked a lot about collaboration and how important it was, but once I joined, I realized it’s even more supportive than I imagined.

Ally and Carly have been amazing mentors. They’ve helped with everything from business questions — like finding an accountant — to mental health support after tough client sessions. When you’re facing a challenge or feeling unsure about how to approach a treatment, they’re always available to talk it through.

Even if they don’t personally have the answer, they’ll connect you with someone who does. That’s what makes Revival so special.

For me, this mentorship has been one of the best parts of working here. It’s what sets this clinic apart from other places I’ve worked. It’s also one of the main reasons I chose to join Revival — and I’m so glad I made that decision.

As a new therapist starting in a clinic setting, I’ve been able to grow tremendously by seeing different patients and cases. When I encounter something new or unfamiliar, I can always reach out to someone for guidance. There’s always mentorship available, not just for me but for anyone who joins the team.

In this profession, you’re always learning and evolving. You never hit a point where you know everything. The mentorship here helps you build both skill and confidence, which makes you a better therapist and creates a better experience for clients.

Collaboration Across Therapists

Every therapist at Revival has their own specialties or areas they connect with best. The way we collaborate as a team ensures that clients always get the most complete care possible.

For example, if a client comes to me and I notice during the assessment that they experience migraines, dizziness, or vertigo in addition to an injury, I’ll bring in other team members. I might collaborate with our massage therapist, Bill, who’s great with migraines and vertigo.

If I see there are nervous system or gut health components, I’ll bring in Carly, one of our other athletic therapists. Together, we make sure every aspect of the client’s health is being addressed.

I still serve as the main therapist, but we all work as a team to make sure nothing is missed. Clients don’t have to go to five different appointments at five different clinics — we handle it all under one roof.

That creates continuity and ensures there’s no overlap or confusion. Everything makes sense for the client, and it’s not overwhelming.

At Revival, we have many therapists with different skill sets and knowledge bases, and that diversity strengthens our care. We often set up meetings to go over cases together and get different perspectives.

We also use a variety of modalities depending on the client’s needs — BioFlex laser therapy, shockwave, PEMF, and more. Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual, and collaboration helps us choose the right tools for each case.

Appreciation and Workplace Environment

Everyone at Revival gets along. It’s truly a no-drama zone. Everyone supports one another in their own paths and professional growth.

If someone needs help — whether it’s organizing their room, handling laundry, or brainstorming treatment ideas — there’s always someone willing to jump in. The help is always there.

Appreciation is a huge part of our culture. We often send messages in our group chat to celebrate birthdays or thank each other for something. We even have an appreciation whiteboard in the back where we leave notes for each other or for the clinic as a whole.

Those little things mean a lot. They remind us that everyone’s contributions matter and that we’re all in this together.

At Revival, everyone truly values one another — and that’s what makes this such a special place to work.
